Read More About: Home improvement
[remodeling, additions, sustainable, green]
When considering home improvement, research and select builders and products that are eco-visioned, and choose products that are not harmful to people or the planet. Many of the conventional products used for repair and improvement projects around the house have high levels of toxins and harmful chemicals. Fortunately there are green alternatives that are much healthier and equally effective. When redecorating a home, consider natural fiber floors and furniture coverings, minimize indoor and outdoor pollution by using paints, stains and finishes that are non-toxic, and never dispose of old products by pouring them down the drain into waterways. When remodeling, look for contractors that have knowledge and experience in green building and sustainable practices, and consider installing solar power or other alternative sources for your energy needs.
