Sustainability Statement

• Only mercury-free, BPA-free products are available in our office. • As a paperless office, we encourage patients to complete all forms on-line and e-mail them to us. • World of Smiles is a completely digital office; this means that we only take digital radiographs. These radiographs substantially reduce exposure to radiation. Furthermore, we will never need any harmful film developing chemicals such as fixer or developer. • We utilize a shredding service that recycles all shredded paper. • Even though we have never used any mercury-containing products in the office; occasionally the need arises for removal of an amalgam. Therefore, we have a state of the art hazardous waste unit that captures and properly contains the hazardous material for proper future disposal by an appropriate environmental agency. • During construction of the office, a state-of-the-art water purification system was installed for the health of our patients and to eliminate the need for a water bottle service. • Our main method of sterilizing instruments utilizes steam rather than any harsh chemicals.
